Celeiro Didático – Associação
The Celeiro Didático – Associação works closely with local organizations in the suburbs of Lisbon, Setúbal, and Sintra, particularly in marginalized communities. A key focus is on climate justice workshops, which link the climate crisis to social issues and contextualize current events such as extreme weather conditions in Portugal and Spain.
The aim is not only to educate but also to provide concrete preparation for crisis situations and to strengthen community and collective action. Furthermore, the organization campaigns against large-scale projects harmful to the climate, such as the planned CelZa pipeline, by connecting local actors, informing them, and mobilizing them for political participation.
Why we support Celeiro Didático – Associação
Celeiro Didático – Associação takes a creative and inclusive approach: Through the “Linha Vermelha” (Red Line) project, the organization specifically involves people with no prior activism experience in the climate justice movement. Through collective knitting actions in public spaces—so-called “knitting radicals”—symbolic red lines are created, representing the 1.5°C limit for global warming. This approach successfully draws attention in an accessible way and mobilizes new people.
Through interactive educational formats, community-building activities, and political mobilization, Celeiro Didático creates spaces for participation and engagement. In doing so, they make an important contribution to a just and sustainable future.
